Syrian civilians have turned into refugees spread across Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq. More than 5.6 million Syrians have fled the country as refugees and another 6.2 million still stand in Syria. The civil war began after a conflict broke out in 2011 â€Å"after a forceful crackdown on on peaceful student protests against the government of Bashar al-Assad.† Syria has committed harsh war crimes and actions that violate international agreements and civilians. Throughout the war, President Assad was accused of a substantial amount of chemical attacks in Syria â€Å"since September 2013, when the president signed the international Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and agreed to destroy the countrys chemical weapons stockpile.† Since all of these events have taken place, many public areas in Syria such as hospitals, schools, and sanitation systems have shut down leaving millions of families homeless and displaced in and out of Syria. For those who have been displaced but remain in Syria, we provide shelter kits and non-food items as well as protection services and psychosocial support.† Additionally, Germany has proposed to accept 800,000 Syrians but other countries are not as involved. In order to save the Syrians from the destruction of the war, countries like Britain, France, the US and more need to step up their ga me. As a representative of Syria, the main solution should be for Syrians to return back to Syria in order to resolve all conflicts. Although the countries like Lebanon, Turkey, and Jordan are all very supportive in providing aid to the civilians, it is only right for Syria to hold their own people. Since the the start of the Syrian Civil War, Syria has managed to regain control and plans on rebuilding the country as a whole. â€Å"The government currently controls over 61 percent of Syria, compared to early 2017, when it held just 17 percent, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which closely monitors the conflict.† Getting too many other countries and nations involved is not only going to look bad for Syria, but it is also wasting a lot of time and money for the supporting countries. On July 3rd, 2018, the Syrian government called for all refugees to return â€Å"saying it has successfully cleared large areas of ‘terrorists.’† P resident Assad even discusses the fact that any area and family in Syria that is controlled by the state is being aided and taken care of. President Assad even states, â€Å"If we talk about emotions, I belong to this people; and it is self-evident that I have the same feelings my people have. Any scene of suffering is painful to all of us as Syrians. But as an official, the question for me is less about emotions than about what I, as an official, should do, being responsible before my people.† President Assad should have a say as to whether his civilians should return or not. Given his confident and well-spoken response, it is clear that he knows what should come next. While people may believe that Assad is an vicious and unreliable president, the claims people have against him are even more unreliable and potentially false. On April 4th, 2017, there was a chemical weapon attack that killed close to one hundred people. President Assad was openly blamed by many people even though there is evidence to back him up. The first question that should be brought up is weren’t all the chemical weapons in Syria destroyed by the Obama administration in 2014? Months later in July, Secretary of State John Kerry reminded everyone that ‘We struck a deal where we got 100 percent of the chemical weapons out.’† If this is true, it is very unlikely that Assad was able to get his hands on Syrian weapons in the first place. â€Å"It makes little sense for Assad to engage in chemical warfare against non military targets that would draw the condemnation of the international community.† Being the president, Assad knew that doing something a s big as chemical attacks would bring more problems to Syria. This proves that it would be too detrimental for him to commit such an act, disapproving the claims made by other countries. Another study was conducted on the net surfing effects on the Brain Cognition. In this study people were brought to gather in groups of various ages and are connected with a sunglasses where they can see web pages and MRI scan was taken for individual volunteer. This study results says that when people surf every day on internet, the brain activity is increased. It was proved for all age groups that brain activity is drastically increased with the surfing habit. All the volunteers continued surfing for at least one hour a day and the increased brain activity sustained for a longer time. Negatives On other hand, some studies were also conducted to check the negative impact of computers on human life. These studies are debated with the technology developments of this modern world and some of them are sucesfull in showcasing their points. When people tend to spend more time on computers and video games, studies say that it decreases the ability to concentrate (HARRIS, Y., 2011). When hyperlinks are introduced in to technology, studies are conducted and proved that a person can read a lateral information in the same format than the hyperlinks which has different size and font. It proves that concentration on the subject matter gets distracted and the absorption capacity drastically decreased when a person switches to a hyper link. Another study says that digital culture effects human race in bringing down the attention abilities. When you spend more time on computers and video games, people tend to pay low attention to other things which are around. It also brings in lower empathetic approach towards peers (PORTA, M., 2007). People spending more time on computer screens starts visualizing things in squares. This was a study conducted for 1800 people when they spend 4 hours on video gaming, started imagining things in square boxes as if the computer monitors (GREGOIRE, D., 2005). A group of researchers call computers and technology are hazardous to human race as it brings down the natural abiity of human brain to logically think. People depend on computers for everything and they are reluctant to use the inbuilt logic in them. Multi-tasking will decrease the quality of performance. When studies conducted on teenagers, who use, face book, twitter and mobile at the same time, their performance in other fields impaired. Conclusion As human race is constantly in search of new technologies and developments, it has both side effects on the quality and quantity of life. In 2004, KPMG conducted a huge survey taking data from 491 organisations and compared the data to understand whether internal audit is beneficial for organisations to detect fraud. The survey was based on the hypothesis that organisations with internal audit can detect fraud better than organisations without the same. Moreover, the survey also aimed to give definitive answers regarding whether orgnisations that outsource their internal audit control systems are less likely to detect fraudulent activities than those which conduct the audits from within the organisation. The participants of the survey were the organisations that responded to the fraud survey across Australia and New Zealand. Industries including government organisations had participated in the survey through mails. A median revenue of $180 million and a median employee capacity of 545 showed that these organisations were all economically significant (Coetzee Lubbe, 2014). The organisations were required to fill out a m ailed questionnaire regarding whether they have internal audit or not and the size of the process, as well as the bodies that were responsible for carrying out the audit. Among the organisations, 68 percent had internal audit; 48 percent of them using their own staff for the audit, 27 percent outsourced the process and 25 percent conducted the survey using both the surveys. Almost 44 percent of the respondents had experienced fraud. The survey used a chi-square test to understand the relatedness, or independence, between the organisations with or without internal audit function and the likelihood of the same to report fraud activities in the organisation. The chi-test came out with a value of 26.79 with p0.001. this shows a significant difference in the detection of fraud depending on the existence of internal audit. Internal audit helps organisations to self-report fraud. The size of the organisation is highly correlated to the chances of a fraud and reporting it. The survey clearly showed that organisations with internal audit is more likely to detect and report fraud than those which do not. It was also concluded that insourcing the audit is more effective than absolutely outsourcing the entire process (Christet al., 2015). The fact that this survey was conducted based on self-reported data ensures the gathered information is rich and also shows that the companies which did have an internal audit control process were more likely to participate in the survey, as they can detect the cases better. The lack of independence while conducting internal audits is one of the major causes of the fraud not being detected. The constant effort of the organization to meet the will of the executive of the organization and the Japanese culture of trying to make the company look good in the eyes of the stakeholders is one of the major reasons of the internal audit cover up. Thus, in the case of Toshiba it is not the personal gain and the lack of internal audit facilities causing the total fiasco. The first priority is the nuclear unit of a community which is the family, mostly those married couples that have a lot of children to support but are not able to provide for their family (Jackson). Reform Proposal: One-child policy This states that a couple should not have more than one child. It is already one of the policies in china but the interval of it lasts for five years. In this reform, we would lessen the span of time to three years of intervals. In that way the couple will learn more about family planning. In this situation, the couple or parent will be able to provide the most need of the child. They would have enough for food, shelter and clothing unlike when they are providing for a big family. The couple will not have any difficulty in raring an only child (Burns). Evidence: The image below is an example in chinas one child policy. PROBLEM: Being dependent of a single parent with the help of the government is also a one big welfare problem. PROBLEM: Lack of good education Education is one of the peoples basic needs; it will prevent us from being nave. Its why every people should be given the equal right for a good education. Public schools are always competing with the standard of private schools; they are always being questioned about the quality of learning. The basic problem is that the public schools are not fully equipped and does not have enough books to be used by the students for researches ("Education and Child Welfare Program"). Reform Proposal: Totally-free college education with monthly allowance This should be given for those children who are interested to study college but are not able to afford tuition and other school fees. With this reform, a lot of unfortunate people would be given a chance to change their way of living. Evidence: Giving a totally free education will help lessen the burdens of those students who wanted to study that though there are free scholarships, they still could not afford to go to school because they still could not provide money for their other expenses in school.
